Kate Garraway has appealed for assist from Haringey Council after receiving “unsettling publish making calls for” of her late husband Derek Draper “which clearly he can’t reply to”.
The Good Morning Britain star introduced in January this 12 months that her husband, former political lobbyist Draper, had died on the age of 56 after a prolonged battle with the long-term results of Covid.
The ultimate 12 months of his life was documented in an ITV documentary titled Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story, which adopted on from two different programmes about Draper’s battle with Covid and her struggles navigating the care system.
Three months after his dying, broadcaster Garraway tagged Haringey London Borough Council in a plea on X, previously Twitter.
“@haringeycouncil please assist – have been making an attempt for ten days bought to talk to somebody about my husband passing away – following unsettling publish making calls for which clearly he can’t reply to,” the 56-year-old wrote.
“I simply can not get by.
“Once more at the moment practically 50 minutes wait & earlier than I may …. the person put me straight again to the start – one other 20 minutes after which it timed out as shuts at 5pm.
“Is there a beareavement service or SOMETHING!!!!.”
Garraway didn’t make clear what the publish was referencing or what “calls for” had been being made.
A consultant for Haringey Council has been contacted for remark.
It comes after the third documentary noticed the TV star reveal that the £16,000 month-to-month price of her late husband’s care was greater than her wage from ITV and brought on her to rack up big money owed.
She later added that she doesn’t “remorse or begrudge” the money owed.
Garraway mentioned she desires her late husband’s legacy to be combating for change in a care system, which looks like it’s “there to catch you out” when it ought to be there to “catch you if you fall”.
