Sculptor Leilah Babirye started her artwork as a type of activism again dwelling in Uganda, the place being homosexual is against the law.
Compelled to flee her dwelling after being outed by a newspaper, the artist claimed asylum in New York. Now, her sculptures stand as monuments to the LGBTQ+ neighborhood.
We went to satisfy the artist at her exhibition at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
